Role Description
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for the continued development of volunteer programs, policies and procedures for

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Branch Managers to develop and maintain effective processes to assist in the recruitment and retention of Community Council volunteers, event and shelter volunteers.
- Assist with the promotion of volunteer opportunities within Ontario SPCA branches.

Full-time Position
As a receptionist/Office Assistant, you will primarily be responsible for booking spay/neuter appointments. Additional responsibilities include greeting clients, taking payments, recording patient information, discharging patients and performing general administrative duties. You will also be assisting in the clinic as needed, helping with animal care and with clinic cleanliness.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chief Inspector is responsible for the overall management and administration of the Ontario SPCA investigations program. The Chief Inspector is the chief law enforcement officer of the Society.
Management of the department includes developing policy, standards, training, budgeting, program management, and the supervision of agents, inspectors and animal control officers, and the project management of animal welfare issues pertaining to investigations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prioritize, plan, and direct all activities of the Investigations Department.
- Management of all Ontario SPCA inspectors and agents.
- Management of departmental expenditures to ensure operating within departmental budget limitations.
- Project future personnel needs and make recommendations concerning personnel when appropriate.
- Monitor departmental methods, procedures, and duty assignments.
- Responsible for adherence to accepted standards of practice within the profession.

The Thunder Bay & District Humane Society is an affiliate of the Ontario SPCA and provides investigation and enforcement services mandated to the Ontario SPCA under provincial animal welfare legislation.
Overview
The Inspector/Education Officer is responsible for working to achieve and enforce the objectives of the Ontario SPCA Act as well as educating the public regarding responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of all animals.
Major Responsibilities/Duties
- Conducts thorough investigations, documents those investigations properly and efficiently, determines whether criminal charges should be pursued, prepares crown briefs and charge sheets where necessary, consults with crown attorneys, serve, process and monitor cases to conclusion through court.
- Acts on and carries through with cruelty investigations and other violations of the Ontario SPCA Act or other pertinent legislation
- Liaises with Ontario SPCA Office Investigations Division
- Liaises and fosters good relations with all other agencies concerned with the administration of laws and practices which help meet the objectives set out by the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society and the Ontario SPCA.
- Inspects zoos, wildlife habitats, fairs and exhibits in service area and completes reports

Animal Care Volunteer - Barrie Spay/Neuter Services
If you get satisfaction from helping animals, developing new skills and being an essential member of a team then this exciting position is for you. As an animal care volunteer, you will provide vital care to animals recovering from surgery, maintain facility cleanliness, and assist vets/technicians with other assignments as needed. The Ontario SPCA Barrie Spay/Neuter Services is looking for ten dedicated community members to provide animal care coverage from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, or 1:00pm to 6:00pm, one to two days a week. We will provide you with the required training, our immense gratitude and the opportunity to help reduce the suffering of unwanted animals in the Barrie area.
