About the Ontario SPCA
Protecting animals since 1873, the Ontario SPCA is one of the largest and most responsive animal welfare organizations in the country.
The Society is a registered charity comprised of over 50 Community Branch and Affiliate SPCAs and Humane Societies across Ontario, relying primarily on donations to fund animal protection; care; advocacy; and public education.
The Ontario SPCA Act mandates the Society to enforce animal cruelty laws and provides Society investigators with police powers to do so - making the Ontario SPCA unique among animal welfare organizations in the province.
The Ontario SPCA is a member of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies, the World Society for the Protection of Animals, and is affiliated with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Our Mission and Future Goals
The object of the Society is to facilitate and provide for the prevention of cruelty to animals and their protection and relief therefrom - Ontario SPCA Act
The mission of the Ontario SPCA is to facilitate and provide for province-wide leadership on matters relating to the prevention of cruelty to animals and the promotion of animal welfare.
The Ontario SPCA's goal is to become a strong, unified and collaborative organization, dedicated to the cultivation of a kind and compassionate Ontario for all animals.
The Ontario SPCA's strategic, long-term objective is to transform into a proactive, sustainable provincial voice for animal welfare and build a legacy of success!
Cause Related Marketing & Sponsorship
The Ontario SPCA relies on donations to run its operations. In 2008, it cost the Ontario SPCA almost $14 million to run its programs and support 50 Branches and Affiliates in communities province-wide. Support is received from generous donors, service fees, interest, estates and some funding from the government.
The Ontario SPCA is interested in joining with corporations in mutually beneficial marketing partnerships -- Partnerships that will support the Ontario SPCA's lifesaving work!
The Society can offer a strong, established brand and a heartfelt philanthropic connection. Our supporters are loyal, motivated and receptive.
The Ontario SPCA's cause-related marketing program will present the potential to bolster sales, enhance corporate image, target key markets, differentiate from competition and foster customer loyalty.
At the Society, we would be interested in discussing ideas that draw new supporters; fund programs; enhance profile and reach; and promote humane education messages and responsible pet ownership.
