Ontario SPCA investigation of the Toronto Humane Society continues

Newmarket, ON (July 23, 2009) - The Ontario SPCA would like to update the media and the public on the status of the investigation into allegations of wrong doing at the Toronto Humane Society.

As of today, The Ontario SPCA has been overwhelmed by the number of people coming forward to make statements and share information helpful to the investigation. Hundreds of people have stepped forward to make statements and that in turn has caused the investigation to take longer than expected to complete.

The Ontario SPCA has retained the services of the Investigators Group to support in the processing of the sheer volume of information received so far and will continue to accept information from the public at 416-955-9450.

The Ontario SPCA is committed to updating the public and media on the status of the investigation as it moves forward. The media is advised that requests for interviews regarding this update will be denied at this time due to the legal process of the investigation.
